Fernon Residence

In a pocket of bushland, just a short walk to the beach, this unique modular beach house has been designed to capture the tranquil lifestyle of Sorrento beach-side living. The residence features four bedroom and large open-plan living spaces, that open up to large surrounding decks and swimming pool area. Through passive solar principles the house captures northern light and harnesses cross-ventilation. Designed in darkly subdued materials the modular nature of the design is expressed via the upper floor module which appears to float over the ground floor module.
Due to the location of the site and its tight access roadway, MLD Studio had to consider the module dimensions for each zone in the residence and arrive at a layout which met with the expectations of the client.
