A short drive from the beaches of Black Rock and Beaumaris sit 3 generously sized contemporary townhouses. The residences display a sharp modern take on the beach-side hamptons aesthetic, incorporating white painted weatherboards and bagged brickwork.
Each of the townhouses enjoys northerly and easterly aspects and dual living zones across two levels. The street facing residences’ living and master bedroom look over their own private north-facing garden, while the other two residences provide generous open living areas flowing naturally outward toward private alfresco areas.
The proximity of the development within quiet residential surrounds has driven a subdued architectural form, which in particular, has guided an appropriate setback and articulation to the upper storeys. Gable roof forms mimic a more traditional architecture and white batten screens offer privacy to the occupants and prevent overlooking to neighbouring properties. In selecting the materials for the project MLD Studio has combined the vertical timber battening with the wider-spaced weatherboards with the aim to create a rich textural affect reminiscent of one white sculpted form.
